In the ancient chakra system, the solar plexus chakra, or Manipura Chakra, holds the key to our personal power, confidence, and self-esteem. This vital energy center plays a significant role in our emotional and mental well-being, empowering us to manifest our desires and pursue our life’s purpose. In this blog post, we delve into the functions of the solar plexus chakra in the physical body, its spiritual purpose, the element associated with it, the beej mantra for this chakra, and ways to connect with this powerful energy hub.

Manipura, is the third chakra in the seven chakra system.

The word “manipura” comes from two words–“mani” which means “gemstone” and “pura” which means city or town. Thus, this energy center is known as the city of gems because it’s associated with your ability to manifest what you want out of life and attract wealth. Manipura also has connections to digestion and metabolism as well as being associated with the pancreas gland which produces insulin for blood sugar regulation.

Functions in the Physical Body

Situated just above the navel and below the ribcage, the Manipura Chakra governs the digestive system, liver, pancreas, spleen, and adrenal glands. Associated with the element of fire, this chakra is responsible for our metabolism, energy production, and digestion. When balanced, we experience good physical health, vitality, and a sense of inner strength.

It’s Spiritual Purpose

On a spiritual level, the solar plexus chakra serves as the foundation of our personal power and the source of our confidence, self-esteem, and inner strength. When in balance, it allows us to assert ourselves and take action with clarity and decisiveness. It helps us to take responsibility for our lives, embrace our authentic selves, and realize our full potential.

Element Associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra

The element associated with the Manipura Chakra is fire, symbolizing transformation, purification, and vitality. Fire provides the energy required to fuel our passions, ambitions, and desires, driving us to take action and pursue our goals. By connecting with the fire element, we can ignite our inner power and tap into the boundless energy of the solar plexus chakra.

To connect with this chakra and harness its energy, follow these steps:

  1. Find a quiet, comfortable space to sit or lie down, free from distractions.
